Katrina Kaif was born and brought up in London. Her mother is British & father NRI, originally from Kashmir.
Kaizad Gustad a filmmaker saw her at a modeling show and offered her the role in movie "BOOM". the movie didn't do well at the boxoffice but made her a sex symbol. Katrina is very captivating with her amazing looks and voluptuous figure.

Her most treasured possession is a picture of her dancing, which was taken when she finished her 40 days traning period at the Kathak classes where she had to dance seven hours a day non-stop.

Katrina Kaif admits that she is very romantic and dreams far too much of romance and love. She is extremely emotional. She says "When you are in love, the person you are involved with should mean everything to you...but thats not the case anymore. She might wear bold out fits on the screen but is more comfortable in not so revealing clothes in personal life.

Katrina debuted in the film Boom, which featured her as a supermodel. She has done two Telugu movies - Malliswari(2004) and Allari Pidugu(2005). In 2005 she starred in Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya opposite Salman Khan and Sushmita Sen and had a role in Ram Gopal Varma's Sarkar (film). She was also chosen for role of Radha in Ram Gopal Varma ke Sholay, but was subsequently dropped and the role was given to Sushmita Sen[1]. In 2006, she debuted in Malayalam Cinema through the Mammootty starrer Balram v/s Tharadas Her voice has been dubbed in all her movies till date.
